NORTH VANCOUVER, BC – March 27, 2008 — RSI International Systems Inc. (“RSI”) (TSX Venture Exchange: RSY), today announced that the David Suzuki Foundation has agreed to become a primary beneficiary of donations raised by the RoomKey PMS Environment Fund, assisting RSI in distributing fund proceeds across various qualified environmental programs.
The RoomKey Environment Fund (REF) was created to support initiatives that address environmental concerns in communities around the world. The fund will grow through donations made by RoomKey PMS clients, corporate partners and individuals. All donations made will be matched dollar for dollar by RSI.
“We are extremely excited to be working with the David Suzuki Foundation – a world renowned leader in environmental conservation and education,” said Charles Ku, CEO at RSI. “When we launched the RoomKey PMS Environment Fund, we wanted to guarantee that all donations would be allocated to legitimate environmental initiatives. With the David Suzuki Foundation as a RoomKey Environment Fund recipient, we can be assured that all contributions will be invested in qualified, sustainable environmental programs.”
Donations made by RoomKey PMS customers are based on occupancy with the minimum donation starting at just $0.01 per occupied room night. Donations by corporate partners or individuals can be made on a one-time, monthly or quarterly basis.
The RoomKey Environmental Fund (REF) will award donations and matching company contributions to the David Suzuki Foundation. In turn, these funds will be re-invested in various environmental projects working in the following areas:
- Air Quality & Alternative Transportation
- Renewable Energy
- Energy Efficiency
- Reforestation
“We are very excited and appreciative of RSI’s fundraising efforts and feel the RoomKey Environment Fund approach is wonderful,” said a David Suzuki Foundation representative. “Climate change is considered by many scientists to be the most serious threat facing the world today. Programs like the RoomKey PMS Environment Fund help support the Foundation’s goal of sustainability within a generation.”
